Annapurna Base Camp Trek (also called Annapurna Sanctuary trek) is still one of the most popular treks in Nepal. For a short trek with few altitude problems, the Annapurna Base Camp Trekking provides you with unparalleled access to spectacular horizons of Snowy peaks. A trek to Annapurna Base Camp combines some of the most fantastic mountain scenery with a fascinating insight into the life of middle hill Nepalese. The trail takes us through an ever- changing landscape of rice fields, misty forests and lowland local villages to the glacier. It offers a fine opportunity to surround oneself with Himalayan Peaks specially witnessing the glacier basin of Annapurna Sanctuary formed by Annapurna, Machhapurchre (Fishtail, Himchuli, and Manaslu). This used to be a complicated trek due to problems with food and lodge. Now there are many new facilities between Ghandruk and Base Camp along this trail only used by trekkers. Annapurna Base Camp can be approached by at least three different routes. Here I have described one of three options.

A trek up into the Langtang Valley has to be one of the most rewarding of the short treks available anywhere in Nepal. Langtang valley trek starts with an overland journey to Dunche, the main trading post of the area. The bus or jeep trip to Syabrubesi takes most of the first day so trekking usually starts there on the second morning. Syabrubesi is located at the end of the road from Kathmandu at the point where the Langtang Khola meets the Bhote Kosi. Though there are now many commercial lodges in Langtang village, in another section you can observe the distinct life style of the original inhabitants in Langtang village that might be interesting for you I think. From Dhunche we spend four days hiking up through this beautiful alpine valley to Kyangjin where we rest for a day for some exploration of the high mountains and glacial systems. Here you can see the Tibetans and Tamangs, who share a similar religion, language and clothing style. Here, mountains rise soaring towards the sky. We track back for three days before taking a different route back to Dunche and onwards to Kathmandu. This trek is ideal for people not wishing to trek over the Laurebina pass 4610 meters.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is situated in Eastern Nepal and covers 175 sq. km. The reserve is named after the biggest river of Nepal the Koshi. You can see longer snake species, wild elephant, Gharial Crocodile & lizards, Black-necked Stork, greater Adjutant Stork, Lesser Adjutant Stork, Baer’s Pochard, red-necked falcon, Bengal Florican, Great Stone Plover, Black-bellied Tern, Dusky Eagle Owl, Swamp Francolin, Marsh Warbler. Koshi Tappu supports large ungulates such as Wild Water buffalo, Bule Bull Antelope, Hog Deer etc. The park hosts 350 species of birds. The small wetland carnivore includes the rare Fishing Cat and Smooth coated otters. There are few rare Gangetic Dolphins found in the Koshi River. Usually visitors spend 4 days and 3 nights, but it is also possible to stay longer if you desire.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: A one hour flight from Kathmandu Biratnagar. Koshi Tapu camp staff will meet at the airport. With land rover waiting for you and transfer to camp. The drive will take about one and a half hour but we will stop for any interesting things we see on the way. The naturalist at Koshi Camp will brief on the facilities of the camp and the activities on arrival.

Day 02: The day always start with an early morning wake up call, which is the best time to see birds. Bird watching, on first light for the early walkers, in the camp premises and marshlands can be very rewarding to see the shy species like Crakes and Bitterns. The highly nocturnal Fishing cat which hunts in our camp ponds can sometimes be seen at dawn and dusk and one has to be very silent to approach the ponds. Breakfast will be followed with tea /coffee by a full day birds watching walk inside the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve with packed lunch. The area between the Camp and Kusaha (Park Headquarter) is the best area for birds and wildlife. The thin Indian Rosewood forest will provide excellent habitat for Warblers, Flycatchers, Oriole, Bush Warblers, Raptors and large varieties of Waders. Returning to the camp by late afternoon for a cup of tea/coffee or a bottle of Chilled beer! Dinner followed by briefing for the next days program.

Day 03: Today we make an early morning start after breakfast. We spend the good few hours floating down the Koshi river on a rubber boat. We shall spend the day looking for waders and raptors and some wild water buffaloes on the sand banks. We will find a good spot to nibble our packed lunches. We will come to end of our trip by early afternoon with a good few hours to explore the ponds and lagoons on our way back to camp. Driving back to camp will give us a very good chance to see the rare and endangered Swamp francolin, a specialist for Koshi.

Day 04: We spend the morning of today bird watching around the camp premises before breakfast. We take time off for packing and depending on the flight time we departure for Birtnagar airport, 2 hours before check-in time. Arrive Kathamndu from Biratnagar and transfer to hotel, free after noon for shopping and O/N hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 05: Optional one hour Mountain flight in the morning to the Everest, depend on your international flight schedule for onwards journey to home or other destination.

When to Visit?
The best time to visit Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is from October through May. This is a good period also to watch many winter migrants that abound at KoshiTapu. The month of May till the end of September, during the onset of the monsoon, thing are wetter because of rain when the temperature averages 22-29 degrees Celsius. To see Koshi at its best, we recommend a minimum of 3nights and 4 days stay at Koshi camp. This will provide you with the chance to visit the major sites in the area.

What to Bring with you?
Binoculars, Water bottle, hiking boots, sun cream, sun hat and glasses, medical supplies (Although we keep a general medical kit box at camp, you may wish to bring some medicines specific to you), reading books, flashlight and batteries, camera film and batteries, pocket knife, insect repellent and natural colored & lightest clothing. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. Please carry only the bare necessities but not jeweler and valuable items. During the winter months warm jacket etc swimming suits for summer.

How To Get There?
I/By Air: It is a 40 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar. The camp is a little over an hour’s drive from Biratnagar airport. There are at least 10 flights a day from Kathmandu to Biratnagar. Where you will be meet by our staff and transfer to the Camp.

II/ By surface: From Kakarvitta (coming from northeast India) it is roughly 3 hours drive to the camp along the east-west highway. From Chitwan it is 300 km that takes roughly 8 hours drive to reach the camp. From Kathmandu it is 500 km, which generally takes about 12 hours. We generally do not recommend driving straight from and to Kathmandu, as it is rather a long journey. Making your visit a combination of Chitwan and Koshi holidays can better enjoy this scenic route Koshi to chitwan. At Chitwan you may like to spend at least 2 nights to enjoy some of the birds and large mammals.

II/ By raft: if you are rafting in one of the tributaries of the Koshi River, stopping your boat at Madhuban easily accesses our camp. Given prior notice of your arrival we will send escorts for your group. Our Camp will be an ideal place to relax after a long journey down the river.

Note: The Koshi Tapu visit can be combined two days Nepal heritage tour in Kathmandu valley and 4-7 days village Culture trek in around the Mahabharat hills rim. It can make best combination of your holiday in Nepal. However we do our best to make your visit as best as possible and memorable one in the life times. You are welcome to inquiry us for details of tour, trek program’s. People might curious to know how much it will cost trip such like this one. All the cost is depend on the durations of holiday and number of people you are with.

Jungle safari in Chitwan is the most accessible for all the travelers as it is located in the southern middle part of Nepal and as Chitwan is linked by the air transport and road transport as well. There is regular flight from Kathmandu and regular tourist bus service form Kathmandu and Pokhara and we can drive by private vehicle any time and from any part on Nepal.

Chitwan National Park is one of the best Parks in Nepal, established in 1973 AD, where we can have a look of various species of birds, plants and animals including wildlife, floras and faunas, Nepal is best known with the beautiful mountains, but there are the Genetic flat lands of Terai that is stretched throughout the southern part of Nepal, which provide an entirely different experience. A visit to Nepal is incomplete without seeing the beauty of this Terai belt and no doubt Chitwan is the best place to do so.

The Chitwan National park is home to many wild mammals including One-Horned Rhino, Royal Bengal Tiger, wild Elephant, Deer, wild boar, sloth bear, leopard, bison, jackal and many more, many reptiles including Gharial Crocodile and many species of the birds including Hombill, Lesser florican and Paradise Flycastcher, so chitwan is the best destination for Jungle Safari and wild life adventure lover.

There are few options to reach Chitwan National park, as there are regular tourist bus that leaves at 7:00 am in the morning from Kathmandu, or we can simply take private transport to reach chitwan and can start on any time of the day or there is regular flight to Chitwan more over we can depart from Kathmandu at 7.00 A.M. by car/coach to Fishling/Mungling and from where exciting rafting begins and floats down to a picnic spot for lunch along the river side and continues to destination, where our vehicle will be waiting to transfer you to Chitwan.

Elephant Safari:

We can travel through open grassland and dense forest on elephant back in search of rare games; we can spot one horned rhino, various species of deer, wild boar, sloth bear, leopard, bison and the big one, the Royal Bengal tiger etc.

Canoe Rides:

A traditional dugout takes us on a silent trip down the Rapti River to view birds, crocodile and the animals of the river, especially from October through to mid March.

Nature walking in the Jungle:

Well-trained naturalists/ecologists take us to prime spots to view deer, rhino, sloth bears and other wildlife and no doubt the detailed explanation from the experienced guide on wildlife and jungle will help to widen the knowledge and enjoy our trip.

Bird Watching:

We can view the birds while we are for an early morning walk through the bush and along the Rapti River where over 450 species of exotic birds including Giant, Hombill, Lesser florican and Paradise Flycastcher exist, no doubt we will be accompanied by our experienced naturalist.

Tharu Stick Dance:

We will have a look a melodious tribal dance performed by Tharu men with the rhythms of drumsand with clashing of stick that embodies and projects how to drive away Rhino and other wild animals from human habitat, especially after dinner at the hotel /lodge/tented camp, we will watch Tharu stick dance.

You can spend time in Chitwan National park as much as you like, there is options for 2 days, 3 day , 4 days or 5 days and basically, we suggest you to take our 2 nights 3 days package tour which quite enough to experience all the jungle activities available in the park or do let us know if you have shorter time and have only have 1 nights 2 days or you want to spend more day in Chitwan as we tailor and offer tours program in Chitwan National park as per your requirement and interests.

The Annapurna Circuit is a trek within the Annapurna mountain range of central Nepal. The total length of the route varies between 160–230 km (100-145 mi), depending on where motor transportation is used and where the trek is ended. This trek crosses two different river valleys and encircles the Annapurna massif. The path reaches its highest point at Thorung La pass (5416m/17769 ft), touching the edge of the Tibetan plateau.

Practically all trekkers hike the route anticlockwise, as this way the daily altitude gain is slower, and crossing the high Thorong La pass is easier and safer. The mountain scenery, seen at close quarters includes the Annapurna Massif (Annapurna I-IV), Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, and Paungda Danda. Numerous other peaks of 6000-8000m in elevation rise from the Annapurna range. The trek begins at Besisahar or Bhulbhule in the Marshyangdi river valley and concludes in the Kali Gandaki Gorge. Besisahar can be reached after a seven-hour drive from Kathmandu.
